I'm Harley Lee Clack.
Welcome to
The Clearfield Gazette.
After living here for
over 90 years, I have
finally got me a good
job. I'm a Deputy for
Sheriff Jack Carter.
Jobs are hard to get
here in Rowan County
especially if you are
born and raised here
in Clearfield.
Unless you like to do
offbearing at one of
the local sawmills,
there isn't any good
jobs for us locals.
So I decided to start
myself a business of
my own.
I thought I could
hire some local people
if'n I started my own
online newspaper, but
as it turns out, there
isn't very much money
to be made with a
online newspaper.
Now I find myself
shamelessly trying to
find people who will
help me write the news
stories for free.
